If you are thinking about getting a lash lift for the first time, it is completely normal to feel a little unsure about what to expect. Many first-time clients ask how the process works, how long it takes and what they should do before their appointment.
A lash lift is a gentle treatment that lifts your natural lashes from the root to create a longer, more open eye appearance without eyelash extensions. The result is natural, low maintenance and suitable for everyday wear.
If you are new to lash lifts, here is what you can expect from your appointment.
Before Your Lash Lift Appointment
Before your appointment, it is best to arrive with clean lashes and no eye makeup. This helps the treatment process and ensures the best possible result. If you wear contact lenses, you may be asked to remove them during the treatment. Try to avoid caffeine right before your appointment so you can relax and keep your eyes comfortable during the process.
During Your Lash Lift Appointment
A lash lift appointment usually takes around 45 to 60 minutes.
During the appointment:
- Your lashes will be cleansed
- A silicone shield will be placed on your eyelids
- Your natural lashes will be gently lifted and set into shape
- A setting solution is applied to hold the lift
- A nourishing treatment is applied at the end
The treatment is very relaxing and many clients fall asleep during the appointment.
After Your Lash Lift Appointment
After your lash lift, it is important to follow proper aftercare, especially in the first 24 hours.
For the first 24 hours:
- Avoid water
- Avoid steam and hot showers
- Avoid mascara and eye makeup
- Avoid rubbing your eyes
After the first day, you can return to your normal routine and enjoy low maintenance lashes.
Most lash lifts last between six to eight weeks, depending on your natural lash cycle and aftercare.
